1 October 2011

Pat Mire can add another prestigious award to his collection. On August 14, 2011, Mire appeared before a packed house to receive the 2011 Acadian Culture Preservation Award during the Acadian Culture Day celebration at Vermilionville in Lafayette. Executive Director David Cheramie, Ph.D., presented the award to Mire in recognition of his “authentic and artistic portrayal of the Cajun people to the world through film.” Following the award presentation, Cheramie moderated a discussion with Mire regarding his culturally rich filmography and the inspirations for his film career.
