A capacity crowd of more than 150 people viewed a European preview screening of Pat’s most recent film, “Mon Cher Camarade,” on June 24, 2009, in Namur, Belgium, as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the twinning of the cities of Namur and Lafayette, Louisiana. The Honorable Joey Durel, Lafayette Parish President, was in attendance along with Philippe Gustin, Director of Le Centre International of Lafayette. According to Belgian officials, the film was enthusiastically received by the capacity crowd and contributed greatly to the success of the celebration. Pat expressed pride that his now deceased father, Felix Mire, who fought in Belgium in the Battle of the Bulge and was featured in the film, was able to speak to the Belgian people in his native French about his role in WWII as a Cajun G.I.
